Focus on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Is arguably the most effective and realistic form of self-defense for men, women and children of all sizes. BJJ prefers to bring an opponent to the ground where size and strength are less of a factor. Once on the ground relying on grappling techniques to subdue the opponent utilizing holds arm locks, chokes, leg locks, and strikes. This strategy takes away the advantage of an opponent with superior striking abilities and can mitigate the advantage of a larger, stronger opponent.

Judo

Also a formidable grappling art, Judo is referred to as “the gentle way.” Judo focuses on movements and techniques to overcome that which is stronger and faster. Judo is primarily a standing art which incorporates standing and ground grappling. Where using a person’s weight, momentum and leverage you can throw them through the air onto the ground where joint locks and chokes can be applied. Judo is optimal for situation where going to the ground is not ideal.

Focus on Muay Thai and Kickboxing

Muay Thai
A simple, yet effictive and devastating art, Muay Thai (or sometimes-referred to as Thai Boxing) is is known for two things: its use of basic techniques that get the job done and its effectiveness. The vicious, crushing blows of Muay Thai are respected by all martial artists. The devastating kicks, elbows, knees, and skilled hands make it one of the most feared and effective standing arts in the world!

Kickboxing
“The only way to train to fight stand up is to fight.” That’s our motto. Kickboxing will focus more on your standing strikes (Kicking and Punching), incorporating full on stand up sparring with full protective gear. You will work footwork and striking skills on the heavy bags as well as live sparring. No air techniques here. Our goal is to further perfect your stand up skills!

Focus on Vale Tudo and Street Fighting
Sat (1:00pm - 3:00pm)


Vale Tudo
In Brazil, Vale Tudo means, “anything goes.” In our NHB/MMA class we combine the best aspects of stand up and ground fighting into one extreme fighting style. In this class we show you how to put it all together: the standing strikes with the throws and ground work. Vale Tudo incorporates grappling submissions with striking on the ground with knees and elbows. We incorporate all aspects of BJJ, Judo, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Combat Grappling and Free Style Fighting into one effective fighting system. 

Street Fighting
The true difference between Martial Arts and street fighting is the “anything” can and will happen on the street. There are no rules. In this class we try to prepare you and train you for that, to deal with the unexpected. Training for real street fighting and self-defense situations requires specialty training. In this class we incorporate training with weapons, multiple attackers, and many unexpected situations you may have to deal with.

Cardio / Core Conditioning
Tues/Thurs (5:30pm - 7:00pm)
Sat (10:00am-12:00pm)


Our Cardio/ Core Conditioning class teaches basic punching and kicks, while challenging your level of cardio endurance. By using a variety of core-strengthening exercises mixed with high cardio and a touch of strength training, your body will be transformed and you will discover yourself having a higher level of energy. This class is good for those that just want to get in shape as well as for those who want better conditioning before joining the more specialized martial art classes
